Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how WorkConnect, Inc. (“WorkConnect,” “we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use the WorkConnect app, website, and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. Please read it together with our Terms.
I. Who this applies to
This Policy applies to Customers (people requesting local services), Providers (independent businesses offering services), and website visitors. You must be at least 18 to use the Service (see Section XI).
II. Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Account & contact: your name, phone number, email address, and date of birth (used to confirm you’re 18 or older).
- Address & location: the service address(es) you enter, including your home address.
- Job details: what you share about a service — including through our in-app AI chat assistant — such as service type, scheduling, urgency, and descriptions.
- Photos: images you upload for a job.
- Ratings & messages: ratings you submit and messages exchanged through the Service.
- Notes: optional preferences you save to your profile (e.g., a gate code, “I have a dog”).
- Provider business info (Providers only): business name, contact info, and any licensing or qualification details you submit.
Information we collect automatically:
- Device & usage: device identifier, device model, operating system and app version, IP address, and how you interact with the Service (including when you open the app).
- Location: if you grant permission, your device location — used to help fill in your service address. We do not track your location in the background.
- Push tokens, if you enable notifications.
From others:
- Payments: our processor (Stripe) confirms transaction results and may share limited information (e.g., the last four digits of a card, payout status). We never receive your full card number.
III. How we use information
We use information to: operate the Service and match Customers with Providers; run the AI chat assistant; coordinate quotes, scheduling, payments, payouts, and escrow; send you service-related messages (verification codes and booking, job, and payment updates) by SMS and push; keep records of jobs and disputes for safety, quality, and legal reasons; detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety issues; comply with law and enforce our Terms; and improve the Service.
IV. How we share information
- Between Customers and Providers: to complete a job, a matched Provider receives the details needed — service, timing, and general location — and your name and full address only after you approve an information request.
- Ratings you give a Provider are shared with that Provider and used internally; they are not shown publicly to other users.
- Disputes: if there is a dispute about a job, we may share a Provider’s contact information with the affected Customer so they can resolve it directly with the Provider. We share it only for that purpose.
- Service providers (sub-processors) that operate the Service on our behalf:

- AI assistant: messages you enter are processed by Anthropic under its Commercial Terms; your inputs and outputs are not used to train Anthropic’s models.
- Legal & safety: when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of WorkConnect, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
V. Text messages (SMS)
We send transactional texts only (verification codes and account/job notices) — no marketing. Message and data rates may apply; frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Because we verify sign-ins by SMS, opting out affects your ability to log in. We do not share your phone number with third parties for their marketing.
VI. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe and/or Apple Pay. Stripe stores your card on our behalf; we keep only tokens that reference it — never your full card number. When you book, we authorize a hold and capture payment at completion, holding funds in escrow in between. Stripe’s handling of your information is governed by Stripe’s privacy policy.
VII. Cookies & tracking
Our website uses only functional cookies (for example, to keep you logged in). We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. Our app doesn’t use browser cookies; it may use device identifiers, local storage, and — with your permission — location and push tokens to function.
VIII. Data retention
We keep information as long as needed to provide the Service and to meet legal, tax, accounting, safety, and dispute-resolution obligations. Some records (for example, completed transactions and disputes) may be kept longer even after you close your account.
IX. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit, and we rely on the security of processors such as Stripe and Supabase. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
X. Your U.S. privacy rights
You may request to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information by emailing support@workconnectai.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the rights above and to opt out of “sale”/“sharing” — but we don’t sell or share your personal information, so there’s nothing to opt out of.
- Virginia (VCDPA): you have the rights above and may appeal a denied request by replying to our decision; if the appeal is denied, you may contact the Virginia Attorney General.
- Other states with similar laws (e.g., Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon): the same core rights apply — email us to exercise them.
XI. Children
The Service is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we will delete it if we learn we have. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact support@workconnectai.com.
XII. Deleting your account
You can delete your account and personal information at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete account) or by emailing support@workconnectai.com. Some records may be retained where required by law.
XIII. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
